Sint Maarten, by sail
A day on the water, the way the island means it to be lived.
Step aboard First Wave, our Lagoon 43 catamaran, and spend the day sailing between Sint Maarten's calmest anchorages, best snorkeling reefs, and quietest beaches — captain included.
How a charter works
No fixed script — just a good boat and a good read of the day.
Salt & Sail SXM runs half-day and full-day catamaran charters out of Sint Maarten. There isn't one set itinerary: we read the wind, the swell and the mood on board, then choose the anchorages that fit. What stays constant is the boat, the crew, and the standard of care.
Charters run for groups, couples and families alike — First Wave is licensed for up to 18 guests, but she sails just as well with four.

A typical day
What the hours actually look like
Board at the dock, quick safety briefing, coffee while we clear the anchorage.
Snorkel gear and the paddleboard go in the water over one of the island's reefs.
We drop the hook somewhere calm and eat with a view (lunch isn't included by default — see Pricing).
A quieter beach or bay, chosen on the day depending on wind and swell.
Wind in the sails for the run home, snacks and drinks still open.
Every charter is planned around the day's conditions — this is the shape of it, not a fixed route.
